I know this has been discussed on the forum, but I wanted to relate to how much TRT has improved my anxiety for those who search and ask about this issue.
For most of my life, I have had GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I take an anti-anxiety medication called Clonazepam and have been doing so for about 20 years. I am prescribed .5 mg tablets three times a day.
Before TRT, I took each tablet within 6 hours of each other. I could feel the medicine wear off and knew when I needed to take another. Since being on TRT (started July 2024) I take 1 tablet in the morning (as it is a routine I have established), but most days I forget to take the remaining 2 tablets because I simply do not feel I need them so I forget. Besides the muscle mass and libido increase, this is the most noticeable effect that TRT has had on me in regard to mood.
TRT is not a cure for GAD or anxiety disorders. However, it has GREATLY relieved and reduced my moments of anxiety, fear, and social awkwardness.
I post this so others can also find hope if they are considering TRT due to being hypogonadal.
