So I posted a week ago about some of the libido issues i am having. One thing I forgot to mention is I am on suboxone ‘that’s why I went on TRT’ but from what I was reading suboxone can increase prolactin levels which can affect libido. I also read TRT if not careful can increase prolactin levels. My doctor does not test for prolactin levels. I asked him if he could and he said “they aren’t important”.

I found a new TRT doctor I am seeing in December who also happens to deal with men’s sexual function. So hopefully he will know some things. But my question is, how does one know if they have high prolactin levels? And is there a way to drop them. My protocol is also TRT twice a week at 65mg on each injection. I also just started HCG twice a week at 300iu. My current doctor told me it would help my libido. I just started the HCG on Monday and haven’t noticed any difference.

Lastly, would the TRT work better if I am off the suboxone?? Thanks for any answers or help. This forum has been a godsend for me.

Your doctor does not seem very knowledgeable about TRT. You need the Estradiol Sensitive LC/MS/MS assay if you are going to be on TRT.

You can utilize DiscountedLabs.com and get your own Prolactin and Estradiol Sensitive test without a prescription.

As far as TRT working without Suboxone? I am sure it would. Isn't Suboxone a strong narcotic/pain killer? I am sure there is a reason you are taking it so I wouldn't discontinue taking it without speaking to your doctor.

I personally know one man who was having bad results with suboxone and switch to methadone. Methadone is working excellent for him, he has no need for it trt. He's levels are all good, his libido is good and he's going to the gym and working out daily. He also working full-time.
Then again it doesn't mean it will work for you.

Thanks for the replies guys, yeah I definitely don’t think my doctor has any idea what’s going on. I have asked multiple times to do the sensitive test and he refuses. As far as the methadone goes, I have heard it can go both ways. Some guys have no issues on it. Others really struggle.

Do you guys have any idea of when/if I start to see the benefits of the HCG? Or am i just wasting my time on it? Because I have read that it can make e2 go up. Which I feel like it possibly already has, because I feel somewhat bound up since I started it on Monday. And I read that high e2 can lead to constiipation. Maybe when using HCG using an AI might be a good thing.
