Quitting TRT

Buy Lab Tests Online
I am thinking about quitting TRT. I've been on it 7 months. Taking .3cc twice a week of Test Cypionate IM. I had lab test done in April my HCT was 53. I was concerned and called the clinic, I was told to cut the dose to .25cc. I went to donate blood today and was refused, my pressure was 170/110.
I do take BP med,Lotrell. I took it before going, had no coffee for 2 days and watched what I ate. Any suggestion on how to stop, cold turkey or wean off?

Good thing about cypionate is there’s really no cold turkey. You won’t even hit the bottom until at least two weeks and some guys like myself with high shbg don’t crash until 3 weeks. Basically it’s a slow taper no latter how you do it.

Yep....just get it your head you MAY have a bit of a rough patch, but it will pass.

I have stopped cold turkey a few times....no big crash.

My HCT was 54 last time I had blood work. Have you ever taken your blood pressure at home? I have the problem when I go get my blood pressure taken by someone else (I don't like being touched all that much.) My last Dr Appointment my BP was 180/80 or some nonsense. When I went home it was 125/70. Every time I go to a Dr my blood pressure is high. I don't feel particularly anxious or anything. I try to take my blood pressure at home and take a picture of the machine before I go to the Dr office and let them know it's just white coat syndrome. Just throwing this out there in case you haven't considered it. Good luck!

The white-coat effect
Compared with people whose blood pressure was normal both at the doctor's office and at home, people with untreated white-coat hypertension had a 36% higher risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart-related events. They were also twice as likely to die from heart disease.Nov 29, 2019

Yes, I do take my pressure at home and it always lower. When I go to the Dr. the nurse takes as reading and its high. Later the Dr takes it and it lower. But at the donation site it was super high, that's what got me worried. The BP and the HCT are making me lean towards QA quitting.

Yikes

To talk to someone at Defy - they have a Restart protocol

generally doing a restart involves taking some HCG for a bit after you come off and then Clomid for a month or so to get the pituitary working

Personally, I would never go cold turkey if I could avoid it. In the 80s we used to do some anabolics, including testosterone, and just stop cold. no one knew about the post cycle therapy back then – and it was freaking awfuL. Doses weren’t that high either.

anyway, I have a feeling that you can manage this and eventually go back on. If it was me, I would cut back or stop until my hematocrit came down to a level where I could donate blood. The donate once, wait two months, donate again - that’ll bring HCT way down.
Then I would go back on, but at a more frequent dosing schedule, probably every day or every other day doing around 100 mg per week total. Continue to give blood every three months and see where you are.
I know you were freaked out right now, but I’m betting that your blood pressure is not 100% tied to the testosterone. In fact, many of us, myself included report better blood pressure in TRT. I would also recommend taking a 5 mg tab of Cialis daily - just about any doctor would prescribe. That should knock about 20 points off your systolic

Typically, my BP is fine at home and higher at the doctor's office so if I take a vasodilator drug, (Cialis, Viagra, etc) and it lowers my BP test at the doctor's office. So, that would take care of the high blood pressure issue if you decided to stay on TRT as you could then get phlebotomy. Also, since my BP is lower at home I kept a log of my blood pressure and then brought my blood pressure cuff with me to my last doctor's appointment and validated it against the doctor's cuff. Provided they are close you know your BP cuff is working and your blood pressure is in the normal range. Lastly, you should look at your Hemoglobin because as that number goes up is means you have more blood volume and more blood volume means higher BP all things being equal. In summary, even if you stop TRT it would be ideal to get a phlebotomy as you will feel a lot better with lower blood volume in less than 24 hours.

I think they just charge you for it
Several of my doctor's offices that had in-house blood draws... refused to draw a pint and discard... which to me, is absurd. Red cross should be willing to provide that service too, free... especially if you are a regular donor...

Jchems: Vitamin E can help with BP... make sure you don't take the DL form. Magnesium Taurate helps me to chillax...

Try UMZU nutrition TestroX and redwood together and see if it works. Start it two weeks after your last injection. I haven’t tried but the guy that started this company had zero testosterone due to a brain pituitary issue and saved himself from being test supplementation the rest of his life.

Beyond Testosterone Book by Nelson Vergel
For what's it's worth I talked to defy about my boold pressure and he was not worried I too was sawing spiked numbers with the top number he basically told me not to worry about it that he has seen that number jump to 400 in people example with they are holding their breath and it also it could be there cuff of you have larger arms and they are useing a smaller cuff then it will show higher numbers that was a few of the things that he told me. You can ask for a theripiitc blood draw at your doctor's office to get the numbers down. i have doctor's in the past tell me everything I can get insurance to pay for it but I'd rather pay the money and get defy to handle my progress they seem to care more than a normal doctor it's because it's all they do. Just my 2 cents for example my sugar was a little high after fasting and I have other doctors in the past blow it off not then and told me what I needed to do now to keep it under control.
