NAC and zinc interaction when taken at the same time

Hi,

there is evidence that high dose NAC can cause depletion of zinc when taken long term by forming a complex with the zinc and increasing it's renal excretion (see linked studies below). I wonder, if it is OK to take 600 mg NAC with zinc/ZMA at the same time or if it would compromise the absorption of the zinc?

Can N-acetyl-L-cysteine affect zinc metabolism when used as a paracetamol antidote? - PubMed - NCBI

Does N-acetylcysteine increase the excretion of trace metals (calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and copper) when given orally? - PubMed - NCBI

I'm taking zinc and copper in the morning and NAC before bed, which should help you sleep.
I've been tested low on copper and lowish on zinc though, so you may want to check your blood levels before supplementing with. High zinc can be detrimental.
