magnesium citrate and heart palpitations

I have been taking 200 mg of magnesium citrate am and pm for around 4-5 months. A couple weeks ago I started having what I believe are heart palpitations. A strange sensation in my heart. My wife is a nurse practitioner and took me off the magnesium and in a week or so all good. I have never had that sensation before.
Anybody else ever experience anything like that?

Never experienced anything like that with Magnesium, but I take 400mg of the Glycinate form after dinner.
Never have tried citrate.

Odd that it would appear after long term use and then disappear when stopped.

Agreed, I did a stress test a month ago or so and it was great. So the mag was my first guess. Who knows.

The best way to take magnesium is through magnesium water, you make it at home with seltzer water. I've never used it, I do know a number people that do.

My cent is that it has nothing do with Magnisium maybe it has to do with something els that occured to you.

Too much magnesium can cause ECG abnormalities. I had one yesterday that was off and I have been taking mag and antacids. My labs are normal and my research is pointing to the magnesium as the cause.
