Doing some rummaging around my PC for Lyme stuff and remembered that a lyme group in California did tick testing for free, so checked out the site to see the latest...
They were flooded with ticks to test and had to stop accepting any more until the backlog was gone. The did link two other sources for testing.

Did not see cost, but looks like you have to have a DR script for the tick testing.
The other link is to the University of Massachusetts.
$200 for the complete testing... Looks impressive and it looks like a script is not needed to get the testing done.
