LC/MS vs immunoassay

My doctor wrote lab scripts for TT, FT, PSA, FSH, estradiol, prolactin, and some others. I think the LC/MS is the preferred test to get an accurate measure of TT (or something like that). For the T script, he ordered # 873 (quest lab immunoassay).

Should I ask that he update the order for # 15983 (LC/S-MS)? and
If I was not on nandrolone + T, would it matter what test he orders?

You would need to use the most accurate assays, TT (LC/MS-MS) and Free Testosterone (Equilibrium Dialysis or Ultrafiltration), especially when using ND as part of a protocol otherwise your results will be skewed.

These are the assays needed when testing TT/FT.

Both assays are critical and need to be used when adding nandrolone to a T-only protocol.

Most would use Labcorps TT (LC/MS-MS)/FT (Equilibrium Ultrafiltration) or Quest Diagnostics TT (LC/MS-MS)/FT (Equilibrium Dialysis).

When testing your FT either one will suffice!

Labcorp

1. 500726: Testosterone, Free, Mass Spectrometry/Equilibrium Dialysis (Endocrine Sciences) | Labcorp

2. 070038: Testosterone, Free, Equilibrium Ultrafiltration With Total Testosterone, LC/MS-MS | Labcorp

Quest Diagnostics

1. Testosterone, Total, LC/MS, and Free (Equilibrium Dialysis)

If you prefer Quest over Labcorp then this is the test panel Quest Diagnostics: Test Directory you want.

Better yet you can order through Nelson's discounted labs link posted above under Quest Diagnostics.
