Kyzatrex 3 month results, SHBG question

Hello everyone. Just had my first round of bloodwork done after 3 months on kyzatrex (150mg BID). I totally slacked on getting it done i know it should have been sooner. Labs were taken 6.5 hours after morning dose. In any event interestingly it dropped my HDL 7 points to 57 and took 14 points off my LDL. Hemoglobin 15.9 ➙ 16.2. No change in estradiol. Sadly not much pump for testosterone 197 ➙ 224. My doc is doubling my dosage to 300mg BID which i started 2 days ago. My main issue here is it seems to have crashed my SHBG, from 43 ➙ 16. I never gave low SHBG much thought But thanks to some reading here it seems some people are concerned with low shbg as well. and now im doubling the dosage , what will that do to my levels!! How concerned should i be with this? does anyone know how fast SHBG moves up and down in the body? given that kyzatrex rise and falls during the day between doses do you think shbg does the same? are there any long term studies on induced low shbg? Should i be trying, if its even possible, to RAISE SHBG some other way?

You're waiting 3 months to do lab work and starting out on too low a dose. Steady states are achieved in 7 days, at which time levels are checked and adjusted.

The recommended starting dosage is 200-237 mg twice daily.

I was able to achieve a 900+ at peak, 500 at 6 hours consistently at 237 mg BID.

You'll need more than 300 BID, more like 400 BID.

As long as the cause of low SHBG isn't cause by illness or disease, you're fine. On Jatenzo, another competing oral T option, my SHBG was 18 on therapy and 37 off therapy.

Androgens typically lower SHBG and high SHBG is common to those with low FT -> aging men.

Should i be trying, if its even possible, to RAISE SHBG some other way?
Not possible.

thank you so much for the info. so i take it you dont subscribe to the stance ive been reading on here that shbg is a transport molecule for test and being low on it is a hinderance to using test effectively? would you happen to know of any research papers to support your theory? i only ask bc id love to show them to the doc. he was floating the idea of me switching trt methods. i know on here the thought is all trt lowers shbg but for some reason test cyp RAISES my shbg?! i just dont want to deal with the highs and lows of a weekly injection and i dont have the wherewithal to inj daily.

yea 3 months way too long, i was feeling pretty good at the time and was very busy. so i can accurately retest in a week?

from what i was reading testing 4 hours after morning dose is optimal?

my tsh went up moderately. im on armour. is this a normal side effect? do people up their thyroid meds while on test und?

You didn't seek out TRT for low numbers, you sought treatment for symptoms. Let's say SHBG is a transport molecule and that it activates T on receptor sites.

You don't want to inject twice weekly or daily, so this is your position.

It's 2025, Google is your friend.

Conclusions: Higher SHBG, independently of TT, is associated with either subjective or objective androgen deficiency features. This indicates that besides a hypogonadism due to an impaired T production, a hypogonadism due to a lower biological activity of T does exist.

Perhaps you were never optimized on thyroid treatment, because your T production was in a deficient state.

Thyroid medicine increases SHBG levels because hypothyroidism would see low levels of SHBG. Had you had healthy testosterone levels, only then can you create a balance of healthy hormones.

All hormones balance each other out.

Testosterone or androgens lowers SHBG, estrogen increases SHBG, dopamine restrains prolactin, high prolactin lowers dopamine.
