Itching and burning skin do to liver inability to remove bilirubin access.

I thought I would put this out there for anyone who has experienced burning and itching while on TRT, in my case the cause is my liver is unable to filter out the excess bilirubin, a bile or acid compound removed by the liver and for those whose liver is functioning less than optimal can experience burning, itching skin as a result and probably do to keeping testosterone super stable on a daily protocol.

Another cause could be liver disease.

I experienced this on occasion after starting a new EOD protocol than subsided after the first 6 weeks, but on a daily protocol is much more noticeable. My CBC result are lower than mid range (RBC, HCT, Hemo) so that isn't the cause, or rather TRT and a combination of poor liver metabolism do to poor health rather than gilbert syndrome.

Hi SL -

That is interesting. I have Gilbert’s syndrome and have always had high bilirubin. AND I have itchy skin usually on my abdomen but my liver enzymes are okay.

Same here, liver enzymes look good. Previously I was on cottonseed oil cypionate and switched to sesame seed which a couple days ago symptoms of burning and itching returned, but the chronic cough didn't, so while I'm allergic to cotton seed, the burning and itching is the result of very frequent injections and poor liver metabolism of bilirubin being out of shape and do to high BF percentage.

It's interesting how TRT can expose other weak organs in the body, however if I was producing testosterone naturally none of these symptoms would be experienced since levels fluctuate so wildly throughout the day where as now they are always elevated.

Do you not take anything to control or lower excess bilirubin?

Frankly, I did not know there was a way to reduce bilirubin levels. I don’t take anything for this condition, do you?

But you bring up another point, you said you have a cough. When I started TRT, I found that the morning of my dose (a few hours later), I have a dry hacking weazy cough. I typically did not have that before TRT.

I also read on this forum, there was a very powerful oil based steroid that caused its users to cough. I wonder if it is the oil in our systems and ultimately in our lungs that causes this problem. I inject ED 12mg Test C.

When my bilirubin gets high enough I believe my immune system responds and goes into a fight or flight responses to the pain and anguish. This is the only thing holding me back on an ED protocol is the excess bilirubin, if I can't get it under control I'll be force to go back to a EOD protocol until such time I improve liver function and lose some serious weight.

Other than this problem, I feel tremendously better on a daily protocol. Sleep has improve a lot!
