How was your journey in the beginning?

Wow, wish I could say the same re: night and day difference. I just completed my first 10 weeks of 200mg T-cyp per week via two separate injections and honestly can't feel a thing. I'm waiting on test results any day now but I just can't say I've noticed a thing. Doc told me I was a perfect candidate due to lifelong fitness/weight training and still carry a good amount of muscle mass, but I'm really disappointed so far.

Thanks, CoastWatcher. I'm planning on meeting with or doing teleconference with my Doc after my test results to share my concerns, regardless of what the labs say it sure seems like I should be getting more of a "seat of the pants" response to TRT.

Started out on clomiphene and anastrozole about a month ago. It's done great things for my numbers... total testosterone something like 400% of where it started, free T over 2% of total, estradiol not too high... But I do not feel better in any way. By every measure, I feel the same as before treatment or worse. So I hope to be switching to test + HCG soon.

Well Consult Done.... I've got my protocol.....

2 clicks of 200 mg Test Cream Daily
500 IU HCG twice a week
50 mg DHEA Daily
.125mg anastrazole (If needed) I wont start this unless i feel symptomatic of high estrogen

How did Tom Petty put it?... "The waiting is the hardest part"..... LOL

I'll probably start a new thread to follow my TRT progress.

Just wondering, did Defy recommend the cream over injections? Or, was it simply a choice you were given? If this is too personal of a question, I apologize.

No worries. I discussed both options. Having done a LOT of reading , what i found was that several Doctors, (Crisler, Kominiarek, etc) suggest that the daily dose of T is a good choice Here's a Crisler quote.

"This might be a good time to mention the best TRT protocol ever is a daily T gel, daily HCG shot, DHEA, and estrogen control (where necessary). I hasten to add that would be for those who can use a T gel."

So Dr. Calkins agreed. Since transfer isnt an issue for me. We'll try a transdermal cream and see how my body absorbs and adapts to it.

Topical testosterone is a rational, first approach to TRT. For those who can absorb the cream/gel (and don't worry about transfer) it is simple. Far too many of us simply "fail the skin test" and end up on injections. In my own case, the injections consume less time than the application of the topical did, but each of us is unique.

Good luck...

Is that what they call bioidentical Testo?

Bioidentical hormones are an exact chemical match to Endogenous hormones ( the ones your body produces) and yes the Testosterone cream is.

Once I found a doctor who knew how the game was played, the biggest challenge so many of us face, it was steady improvement. Topical testosterone, a perfectly reasonable approach to TRT, failed me (as it does for a fairly large number of men); this same doctor, an endocrinologist who holds an endowed chair at a local medical school, was clueless when it came to injections; the discredited protocol so many prescribe, 200mg twice monthly...a ticket to hormone hell.

I found a qualified doctor and was happy with her initial prescription of 60mg of enanthate along with 250iu of HCG until my estradiol started climbing. Working to avoid an AI, I've been injecting 16mg of enanthate every morning for over three years. I couldn't be happier. Brain fog - gone; libido - excellent; erectile challenges - resolved; energy and focus - where I'd like them to be.

I do take daily Cialis, 5mg, as many do. Twenty milligram of hydrocortisone in the morning, and 10 at night (primary adrenal insufficiency). Lab results are steady and consistent.

Find the right doctor and that's 80% of the battle.

All the best.

Hey Coastwatcher,

How are you..It’s Mark from Canada..We connected a while back but somehow I got blocked from replying to you and couldn’t reconnect..it seems this new updated site allows me to respond to posts again?

Anyways, I ended up going to that $$$ Doctor we spoke about and I can now say that I have been on TRT for 4 weeks, 50 mg enanthate, sub q, every 3.5 days. I opted out of the HCG at this point but can revisit it if I want..the Doctor was very thorough and seemed to know what he was talking about..I haven’t noticed any big changes since starting TRT but do feel about 30% better overall. Still more blood work to be done as pre test showed me borderline anemic. Doc was hoping TRT could correct the issue..we will see.i will also be having more in depth cortisol and thyroid testing done prior to my 12 week follow up..

Nice to be able to post again and I thought I would let you know I was still out there..

Regards,

Mark from Canada
