FDA Issues Guidance Against Compounding Pharmacies

The FDA has issued a draft document of guidance against compounding pharmacies (pdf) saying that compounding pharmacies should not be used if a similar product is available from a commercial pharmacy and that doctors using compounded drugs should provide justification with each prescription. As it is a draft, there is a 90 day comment period. Comments can be submitted electronically through the web.

Needless to say, if this guidance becomes law it will have a dramatic effect on TRT in the US, probably raising prices of prescribed drugs significantly. So I hope everyone takes the time to comment.
