Elevated Estradiol Level

Hello, I am new to the forum so I hope I'm doing this correctly.
I recently received lab results that indicated my Estradiol level was 75.8 pg/mL. and Testosterone level at 476 ng/dl. I am 5'8" tall and 167 lbs. I have been plagued with a large chest area which and recently began to think that I may have Gynecomastia. I was referred to an Endocrinologist which has ordered additional blood tests to determine if the levels are actually as reported. I am 58 years old but am very self conscience concerning my body.
How concerned should I be about the test results and am I in any danger concerning my health?

Thank you,

Was your estrogen lab using the Sensitive assay? This is very important as the standard default lab is designed for women and can over estimate a man's value. Your testosterone levels is about where it should be for a man your age. It's slightly lower and could be higher. You really need many more labs for one to make a full assessment.

Not sure if it was Sensitive assay or not but in the report it shows Roche ECLIA methodology. I will be returning to the specialist for the blood screen next week so hopefully I will know more real soon. The endocrinologist does not want to start any meds until he sees the blood screen results.

Thank you so much for the reply.

That was not the sensitive test. The ECLIA method is unreliable when used to test men's e2 levels. It is a concern when your doctor orders a test that is not the appropriate one. Keep us posted.
