Does anyone know a TRT doctor in Baltimore?

I filled out a request to college pharmacy about finding a doctor and they did e-mail me back, however there were only two doctors listed and they are both at the other end of the whole state of Maryland. The trouble is, I'm a college student and I don't have a car. I can get a ride to doctors, even ones in other counties; however no one is going to drive me across the whole state. I just got blood work done by my primary and I'm waiting on results to be mailed to me. I recently saw a urologist who refused to test anything besides testosterone. My levels came back at 344 and he kept insisting I was in the "normal" range and that he doesn't recommend TRT. I called a fertility urologist and was told, "She only works with couples that want to get pregnant." I called to make an appointment with another urologist that deals with fertility and found out he's leaving, but I made an appointment with his replacement. That appointment isn't until July 6th. I'm afraid I'll meet with him and he also won't help me. I am 28 years old.

Defy Medical TRT clinic doctor
I should state that I did find an anti-aging doctor, but I can't afford him. He wants $160 per visit and wants to charge $300 for testosterone, or $650 for pellets, which I don't want. I have medicare and medicaid.

Defy Medical has a tele-medicine model that many of use use and highly recommend. Best of all, they offer state-of-the-art TRT care at very good prices. (I am a patient but not otherwise affiliated with them)

Welcome to Excelmale. You are young, very young, to be dealing with hypogonadism. Do you have any blood work to share? LH, FSH? SHBG? Are you taking any medications/supplements? Steroid use? These are some of the questions a good doctor needs answered to help you sort out what may be going on so as to determine treatment options with you.

It is a fact of life that most of the "good" TRT doctors, though not all, that are known here operate on a fee for service basis. That said, Defy Medical charges no ongoing, monthly fee - you pay for consultations and medicine (I am not a patient, but have respect for what they accomplish).

I've never taken steroids, pro-hormone, or test boosters. I was however given anti-depressant and ADHD medicine from the time I was about 9 until I was 22. After getting my numbers, it all started to make sense. I've dealt with anxiety my whole life, I have slight gyno from when I hit puberty and I had to go on accutane twice due to having severe acne problems. I jsut had blood work done today. I'm calling my primary doctor's office Monday and requesting a copy of the results. I see my primary doctor again on June 6th, but she's not a specialist in the field. She was nice enough to give me lab orders, although she forgot to include cortisol. Hopefully that's not needed. These are the labs she ordered:
Testosterone, Free, Total and Bioavailable
Sex Hormone Blinding Globuin
Comprehensive Medical Panel
Complete Blood Count (CBC) + Auto Off
Iron, TIBC, % Transferrin Saturation
Prolactin
Follicle Stimulating Hormone, Serum
Lutenizing Hormone, Serum
TSH
Estradiol

I do know from a previous test that my LH is 4.0, my TSH is 1.11 and my free Testosterone is "86 out of a range of 35-100". I wasn't tested for anything else before, so I'll have to wait until I get the new results to know the other values.

As for medicine I'm taking, I'm taking protonix for GERD and I'm taking Claritin-D for chronic nasal congestion. I wasn't taking Claritin when I got my original blood work though. As for supplements, I take Fish Oil, Nature Valley Men's Multi-Vitamin, Vitamin D3, Zinc, Magnesium Citrate, Calcium and selenium on days when I don't eat fish. I onyl take the selenium on days I don't eat fish, as to avoid an overdose since I constantly eat fish and my multi-vitamin has 100mcg of selenium. Oh and I occasionally take Astragalus for stress.

So, update. I am still waiting on my results to come in the mail, but the request has been sent. I went to defymedicals site and the only thing listed was there price for HCG. I believe it's $250 for a consultation and $70 for a 6 month supply of HCG and $50 every 6 months to see a nurse for prescription renews. That is actually affordable, since it's only $120 every 6 months; however I rather be put on clomid and an AI if needed. Does anyone know the if defymedical offers clomid and the price?

They offer Clomid. Call them on the price. They won't upsell.

So, they e-mailed me back and I looked at all the prices. Long story short, I either find a doctor, or I get a part time job; which I cannot get at the moment due to having to have surgery in a month or so.

How do I see a nurse and doctor? Do I just talk to them over the phone?

Yes, they have your blood work in front of them and you speak on the phone. It works far better than you may expect, as with my local doctor, he is in and out of any appointment in 10 minutes but with Defy you can talk to them for a full hour if you need and get ALL your questions answered.

They sent me forum to send back. I'm going to see an endocrinologist first and if she doesn't help, I'll have to go that route. I'm wondering if I can mail them the forums. I'm pretty iffy about sending medical forums back and forums online thanks to the good old NSA.

Yes, you can use the postal service.

I'd go that route now, but I currently have to live off of government assistance. I hate it, believe me. I have high anxiety(obviously) and have trouble with college a lot, let alone trying to work and also goto college. Also, I just had flat foot surgery and I need the other one done in the next 2-3 months. So, that obviously prevents me from working for awhile. I'm very nervous about just letting this condition get worse though and it's been stressing me out.

I COULD pay $100 a month for defy and even $50 for nurse calls, but all the extra fews are too much for me to pay right now, sadly. Maybe I can try and work something out, we'll see.

Beyond Testosterone Book by Nelson Vergel
Nevermind, with all the cost of labs, that's over $300 twice a year on top of the monthly cost. I'm better off with PrimeBody, although they have no clinics in Maryland.
