Cialis nasal congestion work arounds? anticongestant, nasal strips?

i love cialis but the nasal congestion is interfering with my sleep it seems. i tried the nasal strips which help on a lower congestion day, but on a high one they dont cut it. thinking of adding a decongestant spray before bed. Anyone have any experience/advice in this area?

I take 2.5mg mwf to alleviate any symptoms. Any more than that the nasal congestion and heartburn get out of control.

I never had that side effect but I have noticed that when I take it "as needed" then I get the headache side-effect. When I take it consistently, but EOD (or so) then no headaches.
Not the same side effect, I know, but maybe adjust the dosing/frequency?

i had the worst body aches and headache the last few days. I finally figured out why i think. The nasal strips caused dehydration overnight. and when i am dehydrated i get those initial horrible cilias side effects again. I have felt the same when i am fasting and on cialis.

I think i may need to move to viagra. I had a bad headache a few weeks ago and i am thinking it was also due to the cialis.

The nasal congestion from cialis/viagra is due to relaxation of the blood vessels in your nose. You want that effect in your penis but not in the nose. The logical thing to do is to apply a topical vasoconstrictor in the nose, hoping that it doesn't get too systemic and destroy the desired effect in the penis.

This study of topical vasoconstrictors that did not get too systemic may give you some ideas:

Also, be aware that meds like Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) can address the stuffiness...BUT...also know that this med is often used to address acute priapism. So it would very likely counteract any benefit you might receive from PDE-5 inhibitor drugs. Nasal sprays (Afrin, etc.) are not a good option either as Jntsrgn pointed out. Your best bet is to reduce the dose or find some other medication.

IDK my friend. I use Afrin each and every night for the same reason that OP needs it. I never get nose bleeds and don't get rebound stuffiness. Clearly it would be better if I didn't have to use it. But I'd rather use it than not be able to sleep. I only use the spray in one nostril. That seems to be good enough. I switch nostrils each night.

Have you guys ever tried the nasal strips (over the outside of the nose)? I swear by those and wear them every night. I wake up less frequently due to stuffiness, and I think it helps reduce snoring a bit.

those are the ones i am talking about, i think they caused dehydration over time.
