It's almost never done intentionally, but far too frequently threads get hijacked.
A member posts a new thread, asking for advice, and, down the line, another member leaps in and derails the discussion with questions that are off-point or pertain to their own situation. The original poster, who does "own" the thread, is left alone as he watches his thread head in another direction.
It takes only a moment to start a new thread of your own, one that will, we hope, result in a vigorous and helpful discussion. Don't let your enthusiasm get the better of you - respect the threads of others.
