That certainly makes sense. From an evolutionary perspective, an animal in a calorie deficit wouldn't - and shouldn't - be focused on sex/procreation but rather survival.
I tried semaglutide (from Empower Pharmacy) to lose a few pounds but felt crushing fatigue from even a single injection of 0.25 ml. I thought that might be a fluke, so I tried again a few weeks later - same result. Not for me, apparently. Glad others are getting good results, but it seems I'll...
As Melody68 noted, the “going soft” phenomenon can be a performance anxiety issue. In my case, I can be rock hard (without any drug assistance) on the couch, but the erection fades by the time I’m between the sheets.
If you’re in the same boat, 5 units may be all you need. The Trimix just adds...
Thanks, Madman - makes sense. On Dr. Peter Attia's podcast, Attia got into this issue with Derek of "More Plates, More Dates": #291 ‒ The role of testosterone in males and females, performance-enhancing drugs, sustainable fat loss, supplements, and more | Derek, More Plates More Dates Pt.2 -...
I have the opposite issue of Jacb: on 100 mg weekly of T cypionate (divided into 2 weekly doses), my recent (Jan. 2024) Labcorp results show very high T, but rather low free T:
TOTAL TESTOSTERONE: >1500 NG/DL
FREE T: 11.5 (DIRECT)
SHBG wasn't measured on this test, but I assume it's high, thus...
I agree that's a red flag. It's certainly considered risky not to treat 4+3, but there are a ton of options out there. Surgery is the barbaric option, in my view: ripping out the prostate, likely leaving you with both urinary and erectile issues (and a shorter penis, which often isn't...
Jay - I didn't have to suffer through ADT, which isn't necessarily combined with HDR brachy. In fact I stayed on TRT before and after my prostate treatment.
Of course every case is different. Did your doctor specifically recommend ADT for you?
Trimix is a miracle drug for any "performance anxiety," which was my issue when entering a new relationship in my 60s. You can forget about your erection quality and just focus on sexual fun. As with any new drug, start off low and slow.
On the priapism threat, no disrespect to FunkOdyssey, but...
Thanks BigTex! I don't expect to have much competition at either weight in my age group (65-69) and location (New Mexico). My personal best at the bench press (the only event I'm entering) is 220 lbs, and I'd love to get to 225+ lbs by the meet date (May 20).
I tried semaglutide briefly. Even at a low intro dose (0.25 ml), I suffered bouts of fatigue that reminded me of when I had chronic fatigue in my twenties (after contracting mononucleosis). The fatigue would hit exactly two days after injecting semaglutide.
Dr. Peter Attia did a recent podcast...
Likewise, Nelson. I even had an online session with Dr. Justin, who appears to be very open to arranging Zoom calls with purchasers.
My issue was that I was only interested in measuring my nocturnal erections (before and after treatment for prostate cancer), not in purchasing a "cock ring." But...
A quick update on my recovery from prostate treatment, 4.5 months post-treatment.
My PSA is trending downward as hoped. Since I opted for focal rather than whole-gland treatment, it won't go to zero, since most of my prostate remains as before.
The urinary side effects (some urinary urgency...
I regard Trimix as a miracle drug. It rescued my sex life from what could have been an endless cycle of performance anxiety and disappointment. Sure it's a nuisance to inject before sex. But for me it's been 100% effective.
I'm 68 years old. Up until my early 60s, tadalafil (Cialis) was all I...
I likewise freeze both syringes (leaving a little airspace for expansion) and the bottle.
Golfboy, I agree that performance anxiety is a vicious circle. I was stuck in a rut with a new girlfriend (who is not only gorgeous but loves sex) where I would be hard as a rock on the couch, but as soon...
Some great advice and personal experiences here. My two cents on some of the questions that have come up, after over 2 years of using Trimix:
1. Needing more Trimix. I have found I need less, not more, Trimix over time. I believe that's due to getting over performance anxiety, which caused the...
I was recently treated for prostate cancer at UCLA with a radiation therapy called brachytherapy. Nelson suggested I post a description of my experience for the benefit of this forum.
By way of background, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer (Gleason 3+4) three years ago, at age 65. I went on...
BigTex, that study showing penile growth in response to HCG concerned men with "micropenises." Unless one has that abnormal condition, unlikely that HCG will add any inches, unfortunately.
FWIW, my current protocol is 40 mg test cyp twice a week and 300 IUs of HCG twice a week on the day after...
I learned that breathing technique from Dr. Weil’s website. I check my blood pressure every morning before and after using that technique, and my blood pressure goes down noticeably afterwards. Makes sense it would also be a good sleep aid.
The Oura ring, by most accounts, is the best sleep tracker. Matthew Walker, who is arguably the world's leading sleep expert, is an adviser to the company. I've used one since the company was launched.
Interestingly, I also wear the Amazon Halo, which also tracks sleep, and the two trackers...
It actually does seem that Dr. Justin has built a better mousetrap. The threshold question is: do you need a mousetrap?
I would consider using a device that measures my penile health, just as I use my Oura ring to track sleep, heart rate variability, etc. But I’m already aware of whether I’m...
Great list, Fernando. I’d also add managing stress - although if someone is doing all the other stuff you list, including meditation, stress is probably being handled well.
Jed, you're lucky to have Gleason 6. As you may know, there's a movement to reclassify Gleason 6 as a non-cancer, since it's invariably indolent.
I was diagnosed with Gleason 7 (3+4), which is considered favorable intermediate.
Thanks for sharing that study, Nelson. Since PSA levels tend to rise over time anyway, it's remarkable that half the men had a PSA drop while on TTH.
As I've noted, in my own case, at the time of diagnosis with prostate cancer three years ago, my PSA was over 4. Now, after three years on active...
Waterbottle, thanks for the comment. Certainly 68-year-olds don't have 1800 levels "in the wild." But I've been getting advised by both Dr. Rand and Dr. Florence Comite (former professor of medicine at Yale and now head of the Comite Center for Precision Health and Medicine). Comite's team in...
Great discussion here. I'll be 68 next month, and I got on TRT a couple of years ago because my libido was shot and I wasn't getting any morning wood. Like ResearchIt, my total T was great even before TRT, but my free T was on the low end.
TRT has brought my total T and free T way up. A Quest...
Cool that the effects last "several months." However, the response rate of 54% is nowhere near the response rate for Trimix, which I understand is around 90%.
Madman: thanks for that additional info. I know that Dr. Morgentaler does prescribe testosterone for men (like me) with diagnosed prostate cancer, and his book "Testosterone for Life" describes case studies. I had a telemed session with Dr. Morgentaler, and he didn't have any concerns about my...
