Nelson, I am looking into the issue of TRT related erythrocytosis. It has been 8 years since this post. I am wondering if you know if there has been any new research on this matter? And/or if you have changed your views on the need for donating to keep hematocrit below 52%?
Respectfully, the...
I just noticed that the transciber for this talk, be it human or machine, used the word "lobotomize" instead of "phlebotomize." I thought that was a bit funny. That aside, although this post is over 8 years old, it is quite helpful for me as I delve into the controversy of what to do about TRT...
The focus of the discussion has been on treatment, which is indicated.
But I am also concerned with the cause of your hypogonadism. Your low FSH and LH indicate secondary hypogonadism. Medications do not seem to be a factor. Prolactin is a bit high. Has an MRI of the pituitary been considered?
So... this total testosterone level of yours. When was it tested relative to one of your twice weekly dosings? Right before one of your injections? At a trough?
And I see that in fact Amazon has gone back into the NAC business:
https://www.amazon.com/Now-Food-Acetyl-cysteine-1000/dp/B0B4BB8NJ9/ref=sr_1_3?crid=12HHZBLO0ZR9H&keywords=NAC&qid=1655611649&sprefix=nac%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-3
The FDA didn't pressure Amazon. The FDA issued a general warning letter a year or two ago, not to any company specifically, saying that NAC couldn't be marketed as a dietary supplement. Amazon decided to stop selling it. Most other retailers continued to sell it.
Recently the FDA has backed off...
Some compounding pharmacies are still making it. Certain providers such as "Matrix" and "Elevate" have access to these compounders' HCG. Providers who cant get HCG are lying to their clients and are trying to sell kisspenptin and some other stuff.
The FDA is cracking down on compounded HCG...
Nelson,
Thank you for sharing your personal details and for all you do for us!
A few questions if I may:
-Do you still combine HCG and testosterone in the same syringe?
-You are quite familiar with laboratory work I hear ;-) Were your values above obtained at the trough?
Thanks!
JRos895- Thanks for the thoughtful and convincing analysis.
The brand of HCG I use, "Ovidac," does not seem to lack for potency.
On a related note.. something I've been trying to encourage discussion of...is this old study that shows that IM HCG leads to higher HCG levels than does SubQ HCG at...
This data was first discussed here a year or so ago when it was released as a poster. It was now just published in a major urology journal.
Bascially it suggested that 75 or 100mg of "Xyosted" (SubQ enanthate) each week leads to lower HCT/E2/PSA than does 100mg of IM cypionate.
This is a poor...
I do find it unfortunate that in response to the last question in the talk Dr.
I do find it unfortunate that in response to the final question Dr. Bhasin gives the bad advice that for any elective surgical procedure testosterone should be stopped for a week prior.....
Lunchbeast,
You are working with a company that is lying to you and nickle and diming you. Fortunately you were assertive and saw through it. But would you consider looking elsewhere? Also... it is not impossible to get decent TRT, particularly if you are already dialed in, from a local...
I've been getting it from a similar pharmacy over there with somewhat better prices. For what it is worth I've tested the solution with pregnancy strips and there is HCG. That is of course a qualitative not quantative analysis. But for the fun of I diiiuted the solution significantly and there...
I've been getting pharma grade HCG for well over a year from "PremiumRXDrugs" in India. $10 for 5000iu if you buy a 5 pack. Plus shipping. There are about 5 brands available through that pharmacy. I'm sure they are all fine but I like "Ovidac" as it is made by a division of Bayer. If you go...
Sorry... I was confused. I was on 250 iu three times a week and dropped to 250iu twice a week. So now 500iu a week.
I don't know the doses to reverse atrophy......
I dropped down to twice a week a few months ago.
Testicular volume is maintained. But ... who knows. I may be one of those guys who don't shrink on TRT alone.
I started TRT and Hcg at the same time.
For a while I was using 250iu three times a week. Then I lowered it to two times a week as per the recommendation of a new provider. I noticed no change.
I am taking the HCG just to maintain testicular volume.
I've been using the Ovidac brand as well, for over a year. It works for me. What effects did the Pregnyl have that the Ovidac doesn't? My guess is that the difference is due to potency. Maybe try an increased dose?
I have use the Ovidac brand of HCG. I used to get it from ReliableRX but now I get it from PremiumRxDrugs. It is even cheaper from there. Factoring in shipping you can get 5000iu of HCG for $12. (You do have to supply your own bacteriostatic water).
I went with "Ovidac" because it is made by...
I came across one older paper that addresses testosterone enanthate pharmacokinetics. I should clarify that the image below comes from another source that recreates that data in a nicer looking graph.
1- 59 y/o
2- 1 year on TRT
3- 120mg a week of testosterone enanthate, IM, split into 3 dosings plus 250iu of HCG three times a week SubQ
4-Libido is 7/10. Used to be 5/10
5-Erection quality is 8/10
6-Orgasm strength is 8/10
7-Ejaculate volume is 3/10. Always has been small in volume based on...
