Just started 1 mg Doxazosin for mild BPH, directed to use 2 mg if I so choose.
It not only works on the prostate, but allows more blood flow to penis, IMO, which is cool.
My question: I saw a study online that suggested Doxazosin may lower serum testosterone levels in rats. Don't want that...
Hi all
I recently had to undergo an appendectomy and just a few days after, I started feeling really anxious...a little down...not as sexual. Assumed this might be normal, but then started wondering if the anesthesia specifically messed with my test/hormone levels. Thoughts? Thanks.

Hey guys. Looking for input. A friend told me he read an article that said HCG tends to be less effective in men over 50. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Thanks

Hey guys
Considering 1 mg doxazosin and wondering if anyone currently taking it at this dosage has experienced weight gain. I read it was a possible side effect. Thanks.

Matthew and Broker,
Thanks for the input. And yeah, Matthew, I WAS thinking of finasteride. My BP is borderline high anyway...and I have seen no drop. I kinda wish I would...Anyway, thanks again, guys!
Vince and Mooseman, thanks for the input. Helpful and interesting. I have not heard of the studies you mention, Vince, but I do take magnesium pretty regularly. I guess I should throw B6 back into the mix. I used to take it religiously. Again, thanks, guys.
Over the years, I've heard people complain of libido and ejaculatory issues, which I understand are no big deal in the short run, but I wondered if perhaps there were long-term effects of using this particular drug. Thanks.
Anyone ever get them and take this stuff? I have a couple. Nothing large or awful, but doc prescribed Flomax and I'm hesitant because I've heard bad things over the years. Thoughts?
Thanks
Kaes
Sorry for confusion. Best Posts of the Week featured a submission about high blood pressure. A couple of guys responded to the poster saying that his BP may be spiking due to elevated E2. I never knew that BP could be affected by elevated E. If that's a fact, it makes some sense for me, personally.
In an interesting thread Nelson posted recently, I walked away with the understanding that excess estrogen in a man can cause a rise in estrogen levels. Was I correct in what I think I understood? This would explain a lot for me, personally. Thanks.
Hey guys,
I know many have discussed this drug, but I'm curious if anyone has comments re: side effects or better alternatives. My BP is pre-hypertension range, so still doing research. To be honest, Test does seem to be a factor, but it's not like I can stop at this point. Thoughts? Thanks.
I think T messes with libido, for sure. If I had nickel for every post I've read here--and elsewhere--from guys with high T and low libido, I'd be a millionaire. Sure, elevated E can be a culprit, but as most of you know, its more complicated than that. For example, my libido is much stronger if...
not claiming libido assistance, but Myomin (a Chinese herb blend) has been a VERY effective E blocker for me. almost works too well. my T doc recommended it. i actually don't need to take it regularly...but take now and again in the event things get a little soft.
tried traz. small dose. was concerned about priapism, a possible s/e. sure enough, it gave me a weird kind of erection that was annoying and not sexual. too funky. anyway, i wasn't sure how long the erection lasted, as it happened mostly during sleep--and i didn't want any damage. so i stopped...
We're all different. I've been working out religiously for over 30 years and this post made me think.
I'm pretty addicted to my morning gym routine, but I must say that, upon consideration, I, too, have felt a stronger libido during "forced" time off. Maybe the assumption that muscle mass and a...
body hair growth. libido increase. nice while it lasts.
after a period of time, maybe a month or so, i feel it starts to convert to E.
at this point, libido drops off and **** seems less "full."
Anyone have experience with BPH while on test? If so, did you find that gels exacerbated the prostate mores than injections? And, if so, how did you manage? I had some "swelling" marked by slow urination and some slight discomfort. It has passed, but I want to educate myself moving forward...
