Diagnosing sudden hair thinning / hair loss

Thanks Dr. Saya. That makes sense. I hope you are right. I'll research that and see if I recognize that in myself. I have not noticed any "thinning" at the crown or whatever that you typically think of with going bald. I sent Jill and email and asked her to pass it along to you as well...

Oh - I didn't know we could do that. That's good to know. Thanks.

Diagnosing sudden hair thinning / hair loss

Yeah - I was thinking maybe it's just running at higher levels of test (and DHT) more consistently than in the past. But I've had periods of really high levels before (pellets) when we were first dialing things in, and didn't notice any hair changes. So I'm just wondering if it's something...

    Lipo-C / B12 - better SubQ vs. IM?

Thumbs up. Thanks. Will continue with quad injections.

    Lipo-C / B12 - better SubQ vs. IM?

Yes it is a lot of fluid. It works better to do half on one side and half on the other. But if it absorbs just fine IM - I'd rather just pin it in the quad (which is what i've been doing) and be done with it...

    Lipo-C / B12 - better SubQ vs. IM?

I know the consensus for Test Cyp is that absorption is fine either SubQ and IM. But what about Lipo-C/B12 injections. All the prescription instructions say to inject SubQ. But will shallow IM work just as well? The reason I ask is that I inject 1ml at a time and that forms a fairly big...

Diagnosing sudden hair thinning / hair loss

I've had great discussion offline with Nelson, but figured others might benefit from this discussion (and might have other ideas / anecdotes to share). Short story: I've been on TRT for over 2 years (pellets about half the time, then moved to injections) and never experienced hair loss. Now -...

    Just started with defy

He was already at 30-35. Which is the high end of the 20-35 range they typically like to see. And then he was increasing Test dosage by 20mg/week and also adding 800 iu of HCG. One would expect his e2 to climb above current level, based on those changes. So adding a small dose of AI doesn't...

    Ketoconazole 2%

In the United States - the 2% is only available by prescription. Unless of course you buy from overseas supplier through eBay like you did. But then I'm not sure about the quality. Maybe others here have a good non-Rx source for it...

    Which Book Would You Recommend?

Cool - I haven't read Jay's book, but just bought it for my Kindle. I don't think one can be too well read on the subject. :)

    Ketoconazole 2%

I've read that the original purpose of the Keto was for dandruff and the frequency to address that was 2-3 times per week. But for hair loss, the general recommendation is to use it daily!

    Which Book Would You Recommend?

Yep - my recommendation as well. Those are the two books I first bought and they are a fast read, and info packed. Learned a lot.

Recovery Time When You Get Older

Recovery definitely takes longer than the good ol' days. But thanks to TRT - still feeling strong and looking muscular. Just have to manage my volume. I rarely go to failure any more, and I keep the reps/set higher than 8. No more power lifting or 5x5 strength stuff - too hard on my tendons...

    Ketoconazole 2%

Care to elaborate on "treated my DHT"? Did you reduce it for purposes of minimizing hair loss? If so how and what were before and after DHT values?

    New Start

Weight gain could be due to increased estrogen which can lead to a little water retention. It does in me. I also experienced a bit of weight gain in the beginning which I believe was a bit of muscle "re-gain" as I also got back into the gym after a long layoff.

"Leftover Medications" after switching to Defy, your thoughts?

Yeah - I would keep the HCG since it's not mixed. Whenever I received HCG from Defy - I got one 5,000 IU vial and one 6,000 IU vial. Instead of getting a new 11,000 - tell them you have unused / unmixed 5,000 IU, and see if they'll just prescribe 6,000 initially. That'll save you a bit of...

How Much Fish Oil is Enough?

Well - no more than what is sufficient to saturate plasma levels. See if you can get a hold of this paper: I believe the study indicates that the 2 grams/day was for DHA alone, and the paper goes on to say that DHA will max at 1.2 g/day when it's combined with EPA. So that 1.2g of DHA can...

Testosterone Results came back with a 1450.

Hard to say if your doctor will try to back you down some. Some are more conservative than others, and we don't know yours. But nothing wrong with that level if all other things (mentioned above) are monitored and fine. One thought - you like the results at 200mg every 10 days. That's...

SAM-E has been a huge help for my joint & tendon soreness

For the Jarrow brand that was linked - it's $20 for 60 caps. So that would last about 7.5 days if you take 8 per day (4 in the AM and 4 in the PM). So roughly $80/month.

SAM-E has been a huge help for my joint & tendon soreness

Back when I had some tendon/ligament issues, I tried the following: - glucosamine/chondroiton - seemed to help a little bit - SAMe - didn't notice any benefits - BUT I was taking a low dose. Nowhere near EROs - so I'm curious about trying it again at higher dosage. I have a nagging golfer's...
