Ideas on body composition - weight won't budge

Appreciate the comments here. I simply can’t believe the magic bullet is in any more adjustments on the food and exercise front. I’m candidly tired of all of the different perspectives (nothing personal here specifically, just in general). I eat healthy, minimal simple carbs, good proteins...

Ideas on body composition - weight won't budge

Funny you mention E2 as I’ve been have a plethora of other issues (ED and libido) that have crept up recently and I’m thinking we may have over done the AI.

Ideas on body composition - weight won't budge

Wanting to pick some brains here to see if there's something I'm missing. I am 35 years old, 6'2", 216 lbs and am on a stable TRT protocol due to a pituitary mass that left me with secondary hypogonadism 5 years ago or so. I cannot seem to lose weight over the past year or so; in fact, my...

    Heat issues

I appreciate all the comments here. I‘m not going to make significant dose changes until I connect with Saya as we’ve been working on this a long time, but it’s good to know where to be looking. As an experiment, I skipped one night’s dose of T, but kept the AI. I try to not read into...

I meant twice a week, sorry! Interesting on the SHBG to E2 match.

    Heat issues

Saya and I have been tuning it in. E2 is in low 30s at this dose. That said, it may have gotten out of whack causing these latest issues as I haven’t had bloodwork in a while. I will find bloods and post.

    Heat issues

I’ve been on a stable TRT protocol for a few years. Recently, I’m experiencing: -Red face (doesn’t feel flushed or hot, people just say it’s red) - Wake up in AM with sweat around my neck but am not hot - Generally insensitive to heat - lots of sweat and run A/C constantly to my wife’s...

    High Testosterone but low libido!

FWIW - high testosterone has historically reduced my libido and erectile function substantially. I’m unclear exactly why, but I do know too much can have a negative effect on the sympathetic nervous system, increasing idle HR and putting you into mild “flight or fight” mode. Hormonal balance...

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Wanted to circle back here with an update. I think my issue was slightly too much T dosage. I was on 210mg/wk (injected 30mg/day). The past few weeks I’ve pulled back to 26mg/day and WOW the difference in so many ways. ED has gone away, I’m now responding to PDE5 inhibitors and other...

Anxiety Low E2 can't seem to get my levels up

Personal experience is that too high T = high anxiety (along with high HR, sweaty and feeling intolerant to heat, etc.) as well as too low E2 = high anxiety (along with hot flashes, irritability, and ED so bad Viagra would do nothing for it). Re: high T - it was less about the values and more...

Anxiety Low E2 can't seem to get my levels up

Held separately, T that high + E2 that low can easily cause anxiety. What is your resting heart rate at those levels? Would have to believe that a normalization with both of those levels will take your anxiety back to baseline (which sounds like non-existent in your case based on your comments).

    Taking the plunge with CIalis

Can you elaborate? Other guys here claim Costco’s tadalafil is in the $30s retail. Were they quoting you name brand by chance?

    Cialis - throat tightness?

I’ve switched to generic tadalafil in pill form from Teva and my side effects (throat tightness, acid reflux, lower back pain) have not occurred, at least in a week’s time.

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Started DHEA and feel a bit more libido actually but no improvements (yet) to erections. Ranitidine - I take this for the reflux caused by Cialis. It lists erectile dysfunction as a side effect but I’ve never heard anyone complain of that with this standard OTC med. I take 150mg in AM, 150mg...

    Doxazosin restored my morning erections

Agree - I’m titrated up to 3mg and have been seeing diminishing returns over the past few weeks. Am thinking 1mg was the sweet spot.

    Cialis - throat tightness?

Good point - I may ask about Levitra vs. Viagra as I read it's 2nd generation with some added benefits over Viagra.

    Cialis - throat tightness?

Got it - I will try APS troches first and see if there is any improvement. This would be breakthrough for me!

    Cialis - throat tightness?

Just to be clear - when you say “have the same side effect”, you are saying you get throat tightness from these as well or just the reflux? This has been a long road for me - appointments with GI and allergy docs, etc. to identify possible triggers, with no definitive answer or cure despite...

    Cialis - throat tightness?

I use the troches from Empower. I’m wondering if I’m allergic to one of the non-active ingredients as 2 Benedryls typically takes the edge off.

    Cialis - throat tightness?

Does anyone experience throat tightness with Cialis? I can’t find a cause for this so I’m methodically removing foods, meds, etc., to see what could be causing it - and it seems there may be a link to my daily Cialis. Cialis gives me acid reflux also, so I’m wondering if the reflux is what’s...

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Yep - it’s also unexplainably low in me right now and these studies seem to indicate it has some direct action on NOS pathways...which could explain why the PDEi drugs aren’t working for me recently.

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Thanks for all of the feedback. I’m thinking my first step will be to ask to supplement DHEA, considering my TRT protocol has been consistent for quite some time and some intensive research (see below). It’s the only smoking gun I see right now: Dehydroepiandrosterone and Erectile Function...

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Got it - I can’t imagine my E2 is on the high side - if anything it feels on the low side, but I certainly will keep this in mind.

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

    @Vince Carter I dug up some old labs from a little over a year ago. I don’t think I’ve had protocol changes since then, but I can’t be sure. Total T: 913 (348-1197) Free T: 27.3 H (8.0-25.1) E2-Sens: 27.0 (8-35) Free E2, Serum: 0.81 (0.2-1.5) Free E2, Percent: 2.9% (1.7-5.4) SHBG: 14.5 L...

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

These points are well taken. I’m not closed to the fact that this may be psychologically induced - I know from my prior struggles with anxiety the power this can have and am keeping that line open. What is particularly concerning here is the progression - I’ve had much more severe...

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Thank you. Yes, prolactin is high due to a prolactinoma (that started all of this several years ago), but it is under control - this is why I’m taking the cabergoline. For some reason they forgot to test prolactin last time around, but it should be around 8 and has been stable for a while...

At my wits end - progressively cannot achieve an erection

Guys - realize this is a long read. Hoping for some help. I am 33 years old and have been on a stable TRT protocol for 3 or so years now. Recently, I’m progressively unable to achieve a solid erection. In my most recent consult in March, my doctor (who is great and well respected here) added...

Experiences of using two methods to measure estradiol in men: E2 (CLIA) Vs E2 (Sensitive)

Experiences of using two methods to measure estradiol in men: E2 (CLIA) Vs E2 (Sensitive)

Big difference. Regular E2 test tends to overstate due to cross-reactivity with inflammatory markers, specifically CRP. Lots of reading material here and other places (peaktestosterone.com) to peruse.
