Well I took the plunge Defy Medical

You've made an excellent decision. I've been with Defy for several years, after exhausting efforts with local docs and urologists that I kicked to the curb because they don't know what they're doing. The folks at Defy know their stuff, and they have the ability to treat more than just HRT. I...

    My Defy Medical Experience......

Nope. I'm on traditional testosterone cypionate injections. I reached out to Defy to get going on HCG due to the atrophy associated with testosterone injections. I did this because the idiot urologist I -was- seeing wouldn't prescribe HCG. I've since kicked that urologist to the curb and now...

Low libido - subclinical hypothyroidism? Iodine deficiency?

Yes, it's 2% Lugol's solution. I'm using between 3 and 5 drops in a glass of orange juice about 2 to 3 times per week...mostly when I wake up feeling sluggish (lack of energy). Sometimes I go a week or so and don't feel the need for it. Dialing in my thyroid was a 5-year adventure. To recap...

    My Defy Medical Experience......

FWIW, I started with Defy -only- for HCG. I was visiting a urologist for TRT and my PCP for other age-related issues (BP, etc.). Eventually, I kicked my urologist to the curb and turned all my TRT over to Defy. I had learned enough from Defy about TRT and came to the conclusion that my...

Low libido - subclinical hypothyroidism? Iodine deficiency?

Your thyroid numbers do -not- indicate any thyroid issues. Yeah, your TSH is a bit on the high side, but it's still in range. Can thyroid issues trigger libido issues too? Yes! In your case though, I seriously doubt it. In my case, I have Hashimotos. At one point, FT4 and FT3 were in the...

    Anybody on Statin Drugs?

Want the truth? Go get a cardiac calcium test performed. It's like a MRI, but measures the amount of blockage in your heart (i.e. are you a candidate for a stint or bypass surgery). If your left ventricle [the widow maker] isn't significantly clogged and you don't have total cholesterol above...

Has anyone had any really bad sides with PT-141?

100 units on an insulin syringe = 1cc. For example, I use a 3/10cc syringe. I have 10mg of PT-141 dissolved into 1cc of bac-water. 1/10cc = 1 mg, so 10 units on the syringe. So if you're using a 6/10cc syringe, the measurement is still the same (presuming 10mg of PT-141 dissolved into 1cc of...

Has anyone had any really bad sides with PT-141?

So you have a vial of PT-141 and it contains 10mg of the peptide, correct? How much liquid is there in that vial? 1cc? The amount of liquid in the vial sets the ratio. If your vial contains 1cc of liquid, it's simple arithmetic: 100 units on an insulin syringe is 1cc. For 1mg, you'd use 10...

TOO MUCH T3 FROM NDT = JOINT PAIN?

I had a completely different experience with NDT. Started on NatureThroid...then a shortage occurred. Transitioned to WP Thyroid...then it was recalled. Ended up going with Armour Thyroid. I could never get T4, T3 and TSH in range with NDT drugs. I have high RT3 and very elevated antibodies...

TOO MUCH T3 FROM NDT = JOINT PAIN?

Didn't mention what your reverse T3 levels. For me (Hashimotos), I have to run high FT3 to overcome the effects of high RT3. Haven't noticed any joint pain. Doc just told me to be on the lookout for being "jittery" (like you've had too much caffeine).

How bad of an idea would it be to give my wife some T-cyp?

Absolutely get a full hormone panel on her before doing anything. Otherwise, you're slinging spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks!

Has anyone had any really bad sides with PT-141?

I do fine with doses up to 2.5 mg - a little light flushing soon after the shot, but no nausea. I tried a 3 mg dose once. Won't do that again. It made me sick as a dog (like I'm howling up my socks). I mix the 10 mg vial with 1 ml of bac. water. On an insulin syringe, 10 units = 1 mg that...

Has anyone used: Bremelanotide/Oxytocin/Tadalafil 1 mg/100IU/10 mg Troche

I would think that the PT-141 in this would have to somehow bypass the blood-brain barrier. You'll likely have to let it dissolve under the tongue so it's absorbed through the mucus membrane. Interested to hear more about this, so going to stay tuned and let others chime in.

    PFS Sufferer. Frank PT-141 Experience

My experience with PT-141 is that the time for it to "kick in" is dependent on dose. At a 10 unit dose (1 mg of PT-141), it takes over 8 hours before I feel the effects. At a 15 unit dose (1.5 mg), 4 to 6 hours. At a 20 unit dose (2 mg), about 3 to 4 hours. If I take more than a 2 mg dose, I...

You know, I haven't tried getting Cigna (my insurance) to cover any of my Defy services or meds. Might try next time through, just to see what they say.

    Defy insurance claims

Considered out of network for my insurance. I've had better luck just using FSA funds to pay for whatever I need from Defy. They're super cool about providing letters of medical necessity. Besides receipts, that's all I've had to supply to get FSA to "approve" the expense. On the other...

    Injectable Testosterone

Hahahahaha...NO! The testosterone mixture is 50 mg per ml...meaning there is 50 mg in each cc. She takes like 0.12 cc per shot, so it's like 6 mg per shot (i.e. 50 divided by 0.12). Two shots per week (Tue morning / Fri evening protocol), so she gets right at 12 mg of testosterone per week...

    Berberine and HRT

I've used Berberine with great success. Doc wanted to put me on Metformin, but asked that we give Berberine a try first since Metformin is known to cause some digestive distress in some people. My A1c was creeping up on the 5.8 to 6.0 range and I couldn't get it to come down no matter what I...

How to Calculate Testosterone Cyp. Dosage.

FYI: 1 ml = 1 cc. So multiply the 200 mg/ml (or cc in this case) by the injection dose. Example: a 0.16 cc dose of 200 mg/ml testosterone would equate to 32 mg (200 / 0.16).

    Injectable Testosterone

After years of being on pellets, my wife reached out to Defy (I referred her to get the referral bonus). What did they do? They put her on T-cyp 50 mg/ml - .15 cc injection 2x per week plus bi-estrogen cream and progesterone at night. She's doing very well on this protocol - far better than...

What to look for in a TRT friendly primary care physician?

My PCP doesn't care for TRT either...but...he's aware that I'm seeing Defy for this purpose. I just ask for his support in ordering lab work [since my insurance covers lab work at 100%] while treating my BP and thyroid issues. He's cool with it. I just send him the list of labs (with test and...

    A cruel irony of TRT

My wife was on pellets thru her OB/Gyn. Scars on top of scars, and she metabolized the pellets quickly so she was on a roller coaster. Got her connected with Defy and they put her on shots. What a difference! We don't -dare- miss our shots now! Can't hurt to get your PCP to order labs and...
