I think that you are doing fantastic and the fact you are reaching out for suggestions says something to your resolve. I have had success dieting but my belly fat is also still hanging (literally) around so I can definitely sympathize with what you are feeling. i see you have dropped your...

Thanks ERO. I found that LCHF/keto has really worked for me in terms of the foods I enjoy and the weight is melting off. The high free T probably has not hurt either.

Thanks everyone. I think you talked me into HCG. Looking at the Defy website and will prob call them and take advantage of their supplemental hCG program. My doctor is really good at working with me on changes to my test cyp dosage and frequency but he does not do HCG.

My Progress to date - any advice appreciated

Hey Everone. Been a while since I have posted anything on progress so at a point of what to try next. for the past 6 months I have been doing the LCHF/Ketogenic diet. Dr recommended as my markers for insulin resistance in my last yearly physical (high trigs, low HDL (ldl was normal)...

Keto Diet (GOOD OR BAD) just when I was almost convinced...

I think it is much more complex than good or bad but based on the circumstances. Just like trt is taylored to the individual I believe diets are as well. What works for one doesn’t work for another. Everyone has their own nutritional requirements. If you are insulin resistant and border...

Keto Diet (GOOD OR BAD) just when I was almost convinced...

No shit literally LOL. For me, no as I always ate a lot of veggies. My problem was always the amount of starches and added sugars that accompanied the veggies. I didn’t just start a keto diet. I started just by cutting down carbs but learned how to replace them and what worked for me. I...

Keto Diet (GOOD OR BAD) just when I was almost convinced...

I did notice that there was an increase in urination and I did start to get lethargic (and a little constipated. Sorry if TMI) so I did increase my electrolytes. I drink bone broth for the sodium, an electrolyte drink for potassium and do supplement magnesium and zinc. I also take Vit D and K2...

Keto Diet (GOOD OR BAD) just when I was almost convinced...

Basically a figh fat, low carb treat that can be used as a snack or a dessert to help meet your fat intake for the day. My favorite so far is the chocolate/sunflower butter/coconut. 1/3 cup coconut oil (partially melted) 1/4 cup sunflower butter 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder a few grinds of...

Keto Diet (GOOD OR BAD) just when I was almost convinced...

I’m a big fan of Ivor Cummins as well. His videos are excellent. I am am doing keto right now and it works well for me. I combine a keto diet with intermittent fasting. Usually 14-16 hours. My daily menu is something like this: first thing in the morning coffee with heavy cream. Sometimes...

    Metformin side effects

I am not on metformin but agree on the statement regarding the cravings being tied to consumption. That used to happen to me constantly. Have you tried eliminating the carbs and increasing the fat? I find that the fat consumption is what satisfies my hunger and eliminates my cravings.

Statins and Muscle Performance: Evidence for Metabolism Disturbance

When looking at my last set of bloods (higher LDL and lowered HDL plus raised Triglycerides) and trying to make sense of the results I came across this video regarding the findings of LDL as a risk factor for Heart Disease. After watching I decided to try diet first before heading for a statin...

Vince's Latest Lipid Panel From 10/9/17

Looks fantastic Vince. I am doing the same. I have a blood draw coming up and am hoping for similar results. I wanted to ask you if you every now and then enjoy a night off from LCHF?

    Low Carbo

What I have found that has worked for me is keeping a window of 6-8 hours a day where I eat my meals fasting the rest of the day. I start the day early with coffee and heavy cream. That's enough to hold me for a few hours where I will then have either a pack of salted peanuts or an omelette. i...

Question about what my physician is telling me. PLEASE HELP

Dont get me wrong. The first few days are a little tough as you get rid of the cravings. Take out Asian food for me is out. Noodles or rice (occasionally some brown rice) plus the soy is stuff I avoid. I will do sashimi every now and then. I dont know of any good noodles but know they make...

Question about what my physician is telling me. PLEASE HELP

It's not as bad as you think getting off the processed foods and excess sugar. It's one of the best things I have done for myself. I was already on t when I made my switch. You loose the cravings for the garbage and crave the good stuff. As far as sauces for your meat, go for the butter...

    What happens to the carbs?

i agree Leesto. I tried many different things as well. It was only when I combined TRT, LCHF and intermittent fasting did the lbs start to shed. I don't have to do much cardio either which is good for my joints (my knees are shot) and find I've lost more lifting weights. It's what works for me...

    New Labs Estrogen High

I think you hit the nail on the head with making changes to your diet. High triglycerides and lower HDL plus the high fasting glucose would point me to possible insulin resistance. I had about the same profile a few months ago and made some modifications to my sugar and processed food intake...

    Vitamin D

From what I have read Vit D increases absorption of calcium (along with many other things) from the gut so additional supplementation may not be needed if your diet is already high in calcium. If you do supplement with Vit D, adding Vit K 2 (MK7) is recommended to direct calcium into the bones.
