Dessicated thyroid doesn't seem to be working (up to 3gr, no change)

This doesn't mean much. You could still have mild obstructive sleep apnea or central sleep apnea. Do this test and see how you score: https://www.slhn.org/docs/pdf/neuro-epworthsleepscale.pdf

Dessicated thyroid doesn't seem to be working (up to 3gr, no change)

Looks like you're just not absorbing the NDT. Are you taking the first does on an empty stomach and avoiding food and coffee/tea for an hour? Do you eat dairy? that can also affect absorption. Your afternoon dose should also be on an empty stomach. You could also try taking the NDT sublingually...

I learned this from you Vince, and agree it is the best way to contact them. :)

DHEA Levels and Effects of Supplementation

Extreme anxiety at 50mg, restlessness, worsened insomnia and milder anxiety at lower doses. I've stopped trying to boost my levels.

DHEA Levels and Effects of Supplementation

My DHEA-S level is similar to yours, and I have had similar reactions when I try to raise it. After trying doses as small as 5mg, as well as transdermal with the same side effects, I've just given up on ever trying to raise it. Some things you just can't change.

Well, you heard it here first.:)

3rd week of TRT - Crash?

I tried coming off for a couple of months but my levels never returned to where they were before I started. Maybe a longer restart attempt would work but I haven't tried.

3rd week of TRT - Crash?

If you don't notice improvement in the next week or so then definitely. Some do, some don't, after the initial honeymoon phase I returned to baseline and never felt any better than I did before I started. Back when I was doing TD I did not find it a problem applying that much to the scrotum...

Dissicated Thyroid Compund vs Name Brand

Back when I took compounded (not with Defy) it was a lot more expensive than any of the brands. STTM has a page that lists all the different NDT' available: https://stopthethyroidmadness.com/options-for-thyroid-treatment/ Last time I couldn't get Naturethroid, but could get Westhroid.

    Best NDT brand

A lot of reports of people doing well on WP thyroid, but it has been out of stock lately because the manufacturer claims they are upgrading their production facilities. Many of those who were taking WP have switched to NP thyroid by Acela and reported good results. If you are paying OOP it may...

full thyroid lab panel, input pls

Do you take any supplements with iodine or use iodized salt? If not you may want to consider taking some. There is a wide variety of opinion on what dose is optimum but you may want to read up on Dr. Brownstein his book is "Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It"

I tried Now brand AlphaGPC last year. Didn't notice anything from taking it so when the bottle was empty I stopped.

Wife needing suggestions on Thyroid issues please!

Your wife needs to find a new doctor. 30mg is 1/2 grain which is a very small dose. Most functional thyroid docs will keep increasing the dose until TSH is near 1.0. The vast majority if people will need more than 1 grain (60mg) and often close to 2 grains (120mg) to feel back to normal and get...

Good Doctors Hard to Find - Looking for One in Boston

Consider yourself very lucky that a very simple protocol like what your on has worked for you. When a protocol like that didn't work for me I was told, 1. The sensitive E2 test isn't necessary, we don't do that. 2. If your E2 is high the solution is to lower your testosterone dose, we don't...

Good Doctors Hard to Find - Looking for One in Boston

It depends how desperate you are to get first class treatment. The thing with MHB is that they will prescribe you test. and PDE5's and that's it, no HCG. If you are an easy case and that works for you then great, you've hit a home run. If not you've just wasted another, IDK, 3,6,12 months, and...

How many of you are using compounded testosterone cream/gel?

In terms of raising T levels, I got just as high on compounded cream as I did using injections. 800-900 range. Maybe that isn't high enough for some, but I found going higher didn't offer any benefit. I tried with and without HCG and with and without an AI. Just like with injections nothing made...

Question about Discounted Labs Sensitive Estradiol Test

I had a blood draw on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago. So it should have been sent out the next day, Thursday. I didn't get the results until this past Monday, 12 days later.

    Defy - Insurance covering bloodwork

That summarizes the situation well. Thanks for that. Just to give an idea of relative costs. For a basic follow up panel with the following tests Testosterone, Free, Direct With Total Testosterone estradiol, sensitive, LC/MS DHEA-S CBC w/diff PSA Prolactin Progesterone I was charged $725...

    Defy - Insurance covering bloodwork

Yes, exactly, and you know there is someone at the insurance company who makes the decisions to write to software to process the claims the way they do, but he/she is in some department hidden away from the customer service reps.

    Defy - Insurance covering bloodwork

Labcorp and Quest will both submit the claim listing the location of lab services as being Florida regardless of the state where the actual blood draw happened. It then gets processed under the rules of your plan that cover out of state services (unless your in FL). Hopefully this was made...

    Got a script for T cream w/ Topi-Click - couple questions.

I've had that experience with cream from Hallandale. I assume it is either due to the base cream used or how it was mixed. Sometimes it seems like there is a lot of air mixed in and when I turn one click the cream slowly oozes out over the course of about 5 minutes. In the beginning I didn't...

Need help solving fatigue. Very high Reverse T3, low-ish cortisol.

You're going to be talking to one of the top minds in hormone treatment and overall men's health on Monday. I'd just try to relax, enjoy the rest of the weekend as best you can, and see what he has to say.

Need help solving fatigue. Very high Reverse T3, low-ish cortisol.

The elevated TPO antibodies means there is probably some sort of autoimmune disease present. Could be autoimmune thyroiditis, or Hashimoto's, but elevated TPO ab can also be caused by other autoimmune diseases. The high reverse T3 certainly indicates something is going on that your body is...

    Thyroid Therapy: Its Long-Term Effects

Most of the time the doses used won't completely suppress TSH, so your thyroid should still be producing some hormones even when your taking exogenous T4. A lot of alternative practitioners will aim for a TSH of 1. Typically when you stop taking the T4 your TSH will rise back up to where is...

Do your MD's have unlimited access to all your prescribed Rx's?

In my experience it is variable. I don't know if it varies by state or if it is a national thing, but my old PCP had nothing about my prescriptions, my new PCP has an EHR system and had access to every prescription I had from the main stream pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS, etc). I don't know if the...

Looking for a doctor and advice. Lansing Michigan area

Not exactly. He still has to answer to the state medical board if things get out of hand in their opinion. I know of one TRT doc who lost his license, several docs that treat chronic Lyme disease have been warned (don't know if any have lost their license), and I also know of some docs who were...

    Defy - Insurance covering bloodwork

Labcorp is in network. My insurance will cover labs ordered out of state, in this case form Defy, but it seems at a different rate than for in state labs. I'm trying to get an answer as to why that is.

    Defy - Insurance covering bloodwork

I am due for blood work so I've decided this time to try and find out what it will cost me ahead of time through my insurance. First I had to contact Labcorp, their customer service phone number is no longer on their web site. It is 1 800 631 5250. They were able to tell me how much they would...
