    Beware of DHT

I'm not an MD, but I am an active researcher with a Ph.D. From my perspective you have too many variables in play to have confidence in what's really going on with your endocrine system. You've been taking a lot of supplements. It would be better to stop taking everything, do labs, and then add...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

First, there is no re-starting my own T production. I'm taking T because my body quite making it in sufficient quantities. That was why I was asking about clomids, because I read they can stimulate more T production, even in with people that have hypogonadism (me). It doesn't hurt to start...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Many thanks for this. Since I'm a scientist by trade, I work best having numbers in front of me. One of the problems here, as I've explained, is that my Dr(s) have no clue how to manage any of this. They don't specify when to have my labs drawn (day of my injection, X-numbers day after my...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

I inject once per week. I've been given daily troches...maybe that will work better? Also, no one here seems to be able to answer my question as to whether daily clomids would avoid the elevated hematocrit? Is clomid a viable option for TRT?

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

HCT was 55 when my doc prescribed 3 rounds of phlebotomy in a 2 week period. That brought me down to 45, now it's back up to 52, and I suspect it's just going to keep going up. I didn't have any readily identifiable symptoms, but that said, I probably was walking around with those high levels...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

I thought I would give an update to this thread. For months I've been taking much lower doses of T cypionate and lowered my T from 900-1000 to 450. I also underwent 3 rounds of phlebotomy to get my hematocrit and hemoglobin counts into the normal range. But since then every set of labs I've done...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Got it...thanks for the clarification. So the take-home message is that lowering the dose and spreading it out more evenly does not work for everyone!

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Are you suggesting those with continued elevated RBC, etc, are not not really lowering their T dose? I have reduced mine by half, so I'm hoping for a good result.

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Well, Hawaii is not really US when it comes to medical care! They did none of that when I showed up for my phlebotomy. I asked if they would do it, and they said no.

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

The doc did not order any labs between phlebotomies. But I was nearly 56 HCT...and from what I've read it will only come down about 3 points after the blood draw. So I have a ways to go. I might ask him to order labs after my 2nd one.

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Thanks for the success story. I'm hoping I can find a balance. This week I started logging my water intake and targeting 100 oz per day (3 L)...which is probably triple my typical intake. I tend to drink very little. That has made me feel better in many ways. After a few days the ringing in my...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Why did you switch from pellets to injections? I switched from gel to injections mainly because it is much more cost effective when you buy 10ml vials.

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

Did you ever have to go through a phlebotomy? My HCT is almost 55...so the doc wants that down pronto before we settle on how to go forward with TRT. But I have no problem with more frequent injections. I used to do that, but just got tired of it, once a week is more convenient. Unfortunately...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

I'm actually quite fit (5'10" 180 lb)...play a lot of tennis. I'm wondering about your salt water recommendation. That would dehydrate, which would lower BP, but dehydration increases hematocrit/RBC. I'm less concerned with the immediate task of getting my hematocrit down than I am with long...

Success stories for managing TRT induced increase in hematocrit?

I have been using testosterone cyp injections for the last 6 years to treat low T levels. I inject 0.66 ml once per week. I recently had to get a new Dr. because my regular GP retired. I live on the Big Island, where it is very hard to find good doctors. Long story short, my new Doc ordered lots...
