    A Cautionary Tale...

Hi, Just wanted to chime in here since I've been battling my own issues like these for about the last 3 years, but my numbers are no where near yours, I actually found out when I started having similar issues my TT was around 250, and FT around 6-7. I wish I had some type of baseline to go...

    FYI for those on statins

Hey All, LOL, so I saw my primary today, he had no idea about clomid and also didn't know anything about other drugs used to help male infertility/stimulate hormone production. All he knew was clomid was for 'females only'; but he is just a primary Dr., and he is a bit older. I'm going...

    FYI for those on statins

Hi All, thanks so much everyone for the feedback... I made an appt with my primary. My plan is to: 1) ask him for a script for Clomid 2) try some of those Nitrous Oxide supplements 3) may need a script as well for some Cialis (at least for now) 4) try fish-oils, etc, and try to cut down the...

    FYI for those on statins

I actually, honestly, don't? I really truly am confused, did the statin push me over the edge and cause all these issues? Trust me when I say this, I'm extremely naive to all of this, and went into this statin therapy totally blind, I really had no idea and just trusted my doctor.. so when I...

    FYI for those on statins

Just wanted to update with my latest blood work, which I just had done right after being on xyosted for 9 weeks (100mg 1x/week)..and had been re-taking the crestor (statin) for that same period. I've since stopped both, as I said above, I want to go cold-turkey for a while and take nothing...

    FYI for those on statins

Hi, Nope, you didn't miss it! I never had one done? but sure sounds like that's something I should order then? I take it this is just a general CT scan?

    FYI for those on statins

Yes, I 100% agree.. my triglycerides have always been a problem, I need to focus on them and find something that works.. I'm already very regimented with my eating habits, I only only eat 3 meals a day during the week, and I never snack. on weekends I try to just eat breakfast and dinner, I...

    FYI for those on statins

Hi All, wanted to revive this thread, since I'm currently going through an experience with Crestor (rosuvastatin). I'm 49, in shape, 6'2, 185lbs, and workout regulary 4-5x per week, and have been doing it since 19 yrs old. High cholesterol runs in my family, and sadly I have it, and back...

I've always thought cheese was just bad fats! so I never eat it, except for occasional pizza, but all other cheese also makes me gag! same with seafood, wish I could tolerate it. Eggs are just an occasional thing, but I too thought they were mostly bad for you as well? ie cholesterol?

yes, you are definitely correct, statins are prescribed like candy. Almost everyone I know in my age group is on a statin. What I wish I knew was what any of their Testosterone readings are! but docs never get that done on routine bloodwork! Not a single friend of mine knows their TST...

oh, BTW... I 'hate' fish, seriously, I really can't eat any seafood, at least not yet in my life, the taste still makes me gag! Also I really don't eat anything dairy, besides maybe 1x or 2x a month I may have a bowl of cereal... and I don't have eggs much either...maybe once every couple...

yeah, agreed, I should have said "I eat reasonably", lol... but certainly not a whole-foods diet or Mediterranean diet or anything... (my mom does do that btw, has been doing it since her 30s when our family genetics showed it's face with her 300+ cholesterol!... she still takes statin 5mg...

Well, my fasting blood sugar seems to sit around 100 +/- a little here and there, but for the most part doesn't seem to ever reach the pre-diabetic ranges... I eat well, so no starvation, and I also don't drink alcohol... but yeah, maybe my long-term low T is why my sugar sits at the higher...

Oops... thanks, forgot about that.. My Urologist has me taking the Xyosted 100mg dose, 1x per week... BTW, for the approx. 9mos+ I was on the statin, we didn't notice any change in my blood sugar(s)... So all of the reports I posted are BEFORE I've taken any TRT, just FYI.... I just started...
