How long have you been on Eliquis? Did you also look into the other newer class anticoagulants, Xarelto and Pradaxa?
Unless you were dx'd with a DVT or PE, there's no reason for you to have been hospitalized, as a clot in a superficial vein is not life-threatening. Maybe I'm missing something...
Thanks for getting back. Good you're getting a 2nd opinion, but I would be surprised if a cardiologist will have the knowledge base you need when it comes to HRT in general, as most will just side with all the crap studies that say TRT causes strokes, heart attacks, and clots.
I agree with...
The 23andme DNA saliva test is accurate. It's not like other saliva testing (e.g. for hormones) some of which are totally useless. The SNPs (mutations) in your genome is what it is. But just having a +/+ or +/- SNP does NOT always equate to whether they are expressed or not. There are way too...
I believe Dr. G's studies were done with a much smaller number of individuals than the latest one. I don't have time right now to research it right now, but maybe someone can and report back on that. Coincidentally, Dr. G. was one the researchers on the latest one which makes no sense.
Please describe exactly which coagulation disorders you have been diagnosed with from your lab tests. How long have you been on TRT while you were also on Eliquis? What dose of Eliquis are you taking and what is your dose of TRT? Also, I'm curious, did you ask Dr. G about the latest studies...
Association Between Testosterone Supplementation Therapy and Thrombotic Events in Elderly Men
http://www.goldjournal.net/article/S0090-4295(15)00405-7/abstract
Yet another recent study in opposition Glueck's work which shows no difference in terms of thrombotic risk factors (clots) between...
Somewhere I read in the research that it is not a linear increase and FSH/LH will self-regulate T levels on matter the dose, but I can't find those studies now, but it still wasn't clear to me.
Anyone know?
Thanks for alerting this to us, Nelson. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT GLUECK HIMSELF IS ONE OF THE AUTHORS OF THE STUDY. Does not this study essentially reverse his previous findings? What about the remaining concern for those few that have familial predisposition for thrombophilia and out of that (the...
Found this obscure study:Losartan, an angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist, lowers hematocrit in posttransplant erythrocytosis - PubMed
J Am Soc Nephrol. 1998 Jun;9(6):1104-8.
Losartan, an angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist, lowers hematocrit in posttransplant erythrocytosis...
You didn't state your labs results or what your clotting disorder you've inherited is. Please advise.
If you look back on my posts, I have had a history of clots back in 2012 which both cleared on their own, although I was on a short-term course of warfarin. I am now on Xarelto 10mg as a...
"When T was continued, second DVT-pulmonary embolism recurred in three of 11 men despite adequate anticoagulation."
These studies keep duplicating the same theme: that there is a clear danger in using exogenous TRT in anyone who is prone to any type of thrombophilia (clotting disorder) which...
This is good to have as some scathing anecdotal data against these fly-by-night peptide companies. If it's not pharma-grade from a regulated pharmacy, I wouldn't take the risk.
What is your dose?
Losartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB), may have, via it its metabolites, effects on NO/vasodilation which would account for increased blood flow...
I have been on losartan 50mg b.i.d. and after researching the other ARBs, am thinking of switching. While telmisartan shows some metabolic benefits, Olmesartan seems to trump it :
Antihypertensive and metabolic effects of high-dose olmesartan and telmisartan in type 2 diabetes patients with...
I agree with all you state and practice everything you preach above, however, what we are talking about here are those with likely familial or acquired thrombophilia that are also hypogonadal. I have been on Xarelto for the last 9 mos. as a prophylaxis for DVT. I have elevated Factor VIII...
Here we are a year + later and it's the same old negative news with Glueck. Would be nice if someone would fund a friggin' study showing different anticoagulants used during TRT that just might turn out to be an effective workaround for those with irreversible thrombophilia. There has to be a...
In my experience, immobility can exacerbate an underlying clotting disorder, but rarely itself causes one as severe as you've mentioned. What you've mentioned sounds like a DVT that caused a PE (pulmonary embolism). To be on the safe side, I would do as many of the tests I listed upthread to...

I have a partially empty sella which was diagnosed as an incidental finding on an MRI test some years back. However, as it turns out, my pituitary is still functional as I still respond to secretagogues like sermorelin. Unless you have documented ESS and/or are truly hypopituitary, I would not...
Still got a ways to go before FDA approval, but it looks like injections and gels will eventually become phased out with a TRT agent exhibiting a significantly lesser side effect profile that actually enhances HPTA, and most importantly, induces ENDOGENOUS production of both total and free T in...
My take was that Dr. G seems pretty staunch anti-TRT regardless, as is the case with most mainstream old school docs. That's not to say he isn't brilliant insofar as hematology and cardiology, but definitely from the old school of thinking. Myself, I would only be concerned if my clotting...

The FVIII (and vWF - which is essentially the same thing) that were elevated can be familial or can be acute phase reactants or both. That is why more repeat testing must be done.
Here is how dangerous elevated FVIII is (in terms of thrombosis) and too little is (in terms of hemophilia)...

I communicated via email with Dr. G. extensively for several months. I already had all the tests done well before this. He believed my aforementioned markers are familial. I think the jury's still out on that, IMO. Therefore, TRT is still an option. I just need more confirmatory testing and...
