Women's hormones

Does anyone have any lady friends that do TRT or HRT that have found a reliable site like this one? Asking for my wife, there seems to be a lot more to female test use and blood work. We still have a lot of questions Thank you!

reddit has a trt_females sub which actually looks like it has a lot of good advice and participation. There's also a steroidsxx sub where discussion is mostly geared (no pun intended) towards steroid cycles, but there is some discussion about hormones and HRT in general as well.

It seems from what I've seen that women have better results with Test Propionate than longer esters. It's also much faster to get off of and regain baseline levels (~3 days vs ~3 weeks) if anything goes wrong with virilization or other negative side effects, making it a lot safer. But in general they also seem to feel better (libido, confidence, energy, etc...) on shorter esters.

Start low (~3.5mg/week) and go up from there after giving the protocol time to stabilize and assessing symptoms in conjunction with lab results. A lot of clinics start women way too high imo.

I don't know much about other hormones for women. I know Progesterone and Estrogen need to be balanced to avoid Estrogen dominance, but I'm not sure how that works. In men, higher Progesterone levels block 5-ar and therefore conversion to DHT to a very significant degree, which is problematic, but I'm not sure about women.

Some women seem to get enough E2 from the little they get from T conversion, other women need to add extra exogenous Estrogen. This is where it's ultimately very individual and she'll have to figure out what works best for her.

Both my wife and I are Defy Medical patients. I'm on testosterone, HCG and tiny amounts of Anastrazol. My wife takes testosterone shots and uses estrogen cream.

The wife used to get the pellets through her OB/GYN but started getting scars on her back side. They worked, but she metabolized the pellets quickly and they didn't last very long (1 to 2 months at most). I got her into Defy and we started her on T shots plus estrogen cream. The plus? We can easily control the dose and her levels are kept pretty consistent using the shots/cream.

We both have our primary care physician order our labs - we give him the list and he orders the labs. Our health insurance covers the labs at 100% with no co-pay. We get the lab results and send them along to Defy.

Results? We both feel good and the fringe benefits of the HRT is...well...fun!

I've been managing my girls HRT for over a year. Shes currently on T, E and P fwiw. It's been a bitch to increase her E because the delivery methods like gel and spray were not absorbing. So we got 100mg patches and now shes on them. We don't have injectable E here so using what we can get through GP. Is it working and how well we will know after the blood tests in near future. Also currently she is on 12.5mg of T per week. Longer ester, not T Prop fwiw. P only for 2 weeks a month or so 100mg before bed IIRC. She feels way better, more strenght, less fatigue, way better hair growth, cognitive functions seems to be comming back but very slowly, but still has minimal libido like all her life, and current HRT stack didn't touch it a bit. We increased T as well so what levels we managed to hit currently we will know after the blood test I've mentioned earlier. If her E came up nicely where we want it to do we will be looking into trying some addons like DHEA and Prengenolone to see if that sparks any light. If you have any questions let me know and once we get blood test results I'll probably go ahead and post them if anyone will be interested.

Best regards.
